Marilyn Louise Brown Atkins was born on August 3, 1937, to Harold H Brown and Lenore M Mersereau in Berkey, Ohio. She was delivered at her parent's log home.
She then lived in Silica, Ohio, before moving to Medusa Gardens on Centennial Road in Sylvania, Ohio.
She attended Maplewood Elementary and graduated from Burnham High School in 1956. She then went to work at Lamson's Department where she worked until 1964.
On March 14, 1964, she had her first son, James M Atkins; and on July 2, 1965, she had her second son, Jeffrey A. Atkins.
She moved to Metamora, Ohio in 1961, when she married Paul Atkins. He left her in 1991 and divorced her in 2008.
After her sons entered school, she went to work for Avon Cosmetics. Marilyn worked for Avon for 35 years. She also worked for Stanley and Marge Ottgen and their 5000 chickens.
She is survived by her sons, James [partner, James Maize] and Jeff.
She is also survived by her brother. Harold "Jim" Brown and his wife. Betty.
Viewing will be held at Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Avenue, Toledo, Ohio 43623, on Friday, March 12, 2010, from 2-9 PM. Services will be held at Walker Funeral Home on Saturday, March 13, 2010, at 10:00 AM. Burial at the Amboy Township Cemetery, Metamora, Ohio.
