Wayne Allen Pederson, 58, of Horton, KS., passed away on Monday, March 12, 2007, at the Horton Community Hospital.
Mr. Pederson recently celebrated his 10th anniversary of employment with Golden Eagle Casino.
He was born February 10, 1949, in Horton, the son of Lloyd and Edythe Wright Pederson. He grew up on the family farm near Willis and attended grade school and two years of high school at Willis, KS. He graduated in 1967 from Horton High School.
Mr. Pederson worked several jobs after high school. He lost his sight to diabetes at the age of 26 and attended the School for the Blind in Topeka, KS. He made thousands of basketball nets, belts and brooms.
He was involved in ham radio clubs and a member of the Lions Club and Jaycees. He was a fan of the K-State Wildcats and enjoyed countless trips to the local coffee shop where he visited with friends and neighbors.
He married Barbara Cromwell on April 16, 1991. She survives of the home.
Additional survivors include two stepchildren, Minnie Cromwell, Everest, KS, and Jimmy Cromwell, Jacksonville, FL, and a number of cousins.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Horton First Christian Church where the family will greet friends for one hour prior to services. Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary, Horton, is in charge of arrangements. Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association and may be sent in care of the mortuary.
