Mr. John W. Minor, 74, a retired farmer of the Jericho Community, Route 6, Campbellsville, son of the late Mr. George Washington Minor and Mrs. Sarah Ellen Gunter Minor, was born in Taylor County, May 27, 1897. He died at his home at 4:45 a.m., Saturday, June 26th, 1971. He had been in ill health for several years. He professed faith in Christ early in life and was a member of the Liberty Baptist Church.

He united in marriage to Miss Alice Waggoner in July 1922. She preceded him in death, July 26, 1922. On January 3, 1925, he united in marriage to Miss Mary Gupton and to this union four sons and six daughters were born; Ray Minor at home; J.W. Minor and Dean Minor, both of Route 6, Campbellsville; Mrs. Christine Wise, Route 1, Camphellsville, Mrs. Ruth Stone of Saudi Arabia of the city of Jeddah; Mrs. Lucille Spurling of Dayton, Ohio; Mrs. Edith Dabney of Paducah; and Miss Sarah Minor of Louisville.

Besides his wife and children, he is survived by twenty-eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Annie Newton of Louisville; and a half-sister, Mrs. Maggie Campbell, a patient at the Boston's Convalescent Center here in Campbellsville.

Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 p.m., Monday, June 28th in the Parrott and Ramsey Funeral Home by Dr. D. L. Druien with burial in Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Thomas Cox, Gilbert Colvin, Rubin Burkhead, Alonzo Sapp, Henry Mann, Junior McDermott.
