Graveside service: 11 a.m. Saturday in White Rose Cemetery under the direction of Hiett's LyBrand Funeral Home in Wills Point.
Douglas Davis Goodman was born Nov. 29, 1943, in Columbus, Miss., to Ed Louis and Bernice Carroll Goodman. He grew up in Columbus and graduated from Caladonia High School and Mississippi State University. He served in the Army Reserve before going to work for the Army Corps of Engineers. He married his loving wife, Linda Enckhausen, in Roanoke on March 31, 1984. Doug's career in the federal service included positions with the Army Missile Command in Alabama, and the Navy in Saudi Arabia. Most of his career was with the Army Corps of Engineers in places all over the U.S., as well as the Middle East and Far East. He was director of contracts for the Fort Worth District of the Corps of Engineers, from 1981 until his retirement in 1998. Doug and Linda moved to Wills Point to make their home in 2006.
Survivors: His wife of 26 years, Linda Goodman of Wills Point; daughter, Sonja Goodman of St. Louis, Mo.; son, Kris Enckhausen of Watauga; one brother; three sisters; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
