Although Lawson's Head Stone reads ,Loss, His birth name is spelled Lawson. Loss was a nick name given by his father.

Reuben and Mary "Polly" Bailey Peterson lived in the Green Mountain section of Yancey County. Their home is still standing .

Under Siblings listed below there are two children missing from the family. Standing behind Reuben and Mary "Polly"is one she is Fannie May Peterson and setting next to Mary"Polly" is the other, John David Peterson and another, likely the first born is Naomi "Oma" Peterson.
