Roy Oliver Briggs
Roy Oliver BRIGGS 10/19/1929 - 1/30/2006 Roy went into the loving arms of his heavenly father, after a long and courageous battle with multiple myeloma. He passed while surrounded by his loving family. He was preceded in death by his father, Roy. Roy is survived by his wife of 55 years, Melvin Briggs; his sons: Roy (Julie), Larry (Caroline), Steven, Keith (Evelyn); and his daughter, Bonnie Kayla (Matthew); his mother, Hilda and sister, Jan Gronholm (Jack). He is also survived by his 15 grandchildren, four great grandchildren and his beloved pet and companion, Koko. Roy was a loving family man and took great pride in his children and their families. He will be remembered for his quiet strength and loving support. Everyone that met Roy fell in love with him. We know he is finally pain free and watching over us from above. A Rosary/Vigil Service will be held Thursday, February 2, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Mark Catholic church, 18033 - 15th Place NE in Shoreline. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, February 3 at 1:00 p.m. also at St. Mark Catholic Church; Interment will follow at Holyrood Catholic Cemetery in Shoreline. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be given in his name to the American Cancer Society or the American Diabetes Association. Arrangements: Beck's Funeral Home, Edmonds, (425) 771-1234.
