I am using the death date my grandmother Ellen Crawford Shefler recorded. I see it was not in the newspaper until February 1894 which was not uncommon.

George Washington Crawford, Son of Henry and Susannah Teel Crawford married twice, first to Ellen Myers.
He married second on March 09, 1871 to Louisa Harding (Pronounced Lou-I-sa). She was the daughter of Thomas Harding and Nancy Rosengrant Harding. They had no children BUT she raised her sisters child Mark Pomeroy Crawford. Mark was her husband's son with her sister Permelia Ann Harding. Permelia was first married to Jackson Harding, never married George Washington Crawford but had his son and then married to Charles W. Myers.

George Crawford died in a sawmill accident. He was soaping the belt when he became entangled. There is some question as to weather it was an accident!
