JOHN FREDERICK STALDER
John Frederick Stalder was one of eight children born to John and Mary Schell Stalder. He was born May 25, 1877, near Courtland, Nebraska, and passed away September 10, 1965, at Rosary Hospital at Corning, Iowa.
When still a child, he came with his parents and family to the Mt. Zion community where he spent his entire life except for the last when they lived in Brooks.
On May 18, 1910, he was married to Georgia Roberts, with whom he celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary in 1960. They became the parents of eight chilren, two of whom preceded him in death; an infant son, and son Melvin, who
died at the age of 37.
The Presbyterian Church was about the only organization he was a member of, but this does not mean he held himself aloof from all the concerns and activities about him. He was always active and interested in all the community efforts and the welfare of others.
He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife, Georgia; three daughters: Mrs. Marion (Clarissa) Munlz, Mrs. Mike (Leonaj Kester, Mrs. Paul (Evelyn) Hardisty; three sons, Edgar, Leo, and Alvin; 15 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Ella Hadinger; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held Monday, September 13 at 2:30 p. m. from the Mt. Zion church with Rev. was by Mrs. Russell Hedinger and Mrs. Floyd Walter. Pallbearers were Charles Stalder, Cleave King, Dale Stalder, Albert Hedinger, Wade Schloey and Clyde Stillinger.
Interment was in the Methodist Grove Cemetery.
