Otto, like his father, was a gifted carpenter.
Otto died at the Green Acres Nursing Home in South Sioux City, NE. Services were at Bethany Lutheran Church in Wynot, NE and burial in Paragon Cemetery Rural Hartington, NE.

Otto and Anna farmed in Cedar county and Otto had been retired 16 years before his death. The couple lived in St James NE during their retirement.
As of July 2017 all 14 of Otto and Anna's children have joined them in heaven.
