Carl was born in a little village Ersnäs near Luleå in the north of Sweden. In 1880 he emigrated to Bisbee, Arizona, but moved in 1901 to Campbell near San Jose, Calif., where he had a fruit farm. His last letter home to Sweden was sent in 1920, then the connection was broken. Lennart Parknäs, Sweden, a grandson to Carl´s sister Amanda, succeeded in 1985 to find Carl´s grave and to trace his descendents.
