She was born December 5, 1915 in Christian County , the daughter of Herman and Vesta (McConnell ) Maples.
On October 21, 1933 she and Burl Herndon were married.
She was a loving wife, mother , grandmother , she and her husband had owned and operated a dairy and beef farm southwest of Nixa for many years.
She later was an employee of Lily Tulip for 15 years.
She attended the Methodist church in Bolivar.
She was preceded in death by her husband and daughter in 1993 and a brother , Roy Maples in 1975.
Survivors include two daughters, Denna Herndon, Springfield, Bonnie Potts and husband Fred, Aldrich, 6 grandchildren,two sisters,Lois Wisner and Joyce Mabe, both of Nixa, one brother Raymond Maples,Easley S.C.
Services were in the Adams Funeral Home, Nixa with Pastor Hosea Bilyeu officiating , burial in the Delaware Cemetery west of Nixa.
