Funeral services are planned for Wednesday, Aug. 5 at 4 p.m. at Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel in Valley with the Rev. Donnie Erwin-Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Cemetery.
Mr. Hollis is survived by two sons, David J. Hollis of Lanett and Paul Hollis of Auburn; two grandchildren, Tess Hollis of Clarksville, Tenn., and Donovan Hollis of Auburn; two brothers, Otis Hollis and James Hollis, both of Opelika; two sisters, Doris Barlow of Auburn and Molly Howard of Opelika; and several nieces and nephews.
Born Feb. 4, 1925 in Lee County, Mr. Hollis was the son of the late Annie Lee Landers Hollis and Joel Andrew Hollis Sr. He was a veteran, having served with the U. S. Navy during World War II. Mr. Hollis was a retired employee of WestPoint Pepperell's Lanett Mill with 49 years of service with the company. He was a member of Lanett First United Methodist Church. Mr.
Hollis was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Frances Hollis; his son, Mark Hollis; his grandson, Zachary Hollis; and a number of brothers and sisters.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, Aug. 4 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley.
