Hays -- Lidwina "Liddy" Gross, 85, Hays, died Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2000, at Rush County Nursing Home, LaCrosse. Mrs. Gross was born Lidwina Rohr on July 30, 1915, at Hays.

She was a homemaker and a member of Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church, Christian Mothers and the Third Order, all of Antonino.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alex, in 1969; and a son, Kenneth.

Survivors include two sons, Jerry of Hays and Maurice of Greeley, Colo.; four daughters, Darlene Tobornik of District Heights, Md., Clarene Weigel of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Alexia Schmidt and Judy Werth, both of Hays; a brother, Clarence Rohr of Hays; three sisters, Alice Leiker of Kansas City, Kan., Rita Weeks of Kansas City, Mo., and Helen Tholen of Hays; 21 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church, Antonino, the Rev. Michael Suchnicki officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. A Third Order rosary will be said at 4 p.m. Thursday followed by a parish vigil at 7 p.m. and a Christian Mothers rosary at 7:15 p.m. Thursday at Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, 20th and Pine, Hays 67601.

Memorials made be made for Masses. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday and 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
