Curtis was born February 25, 1936 in Anson County, NC a son of the late William Alexander and Pearlie Mae Wright Carpenter. He was the owner and operator of Carpenter’s Used Cars and Parts prior to his retirement.
Surviving are his children, Dennis Carpenter, Marilyn (Ed) Helms, and Rick Carpenter all of Peachland, Carolyn (Ronnie) Hamilton and Donnie (Robin) Carpenter both of Polkton and Tommy (Jackie) Carpenter of Stanfield; 13 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Fannie Lee Woodard Carpenter, his sons, Lynn and Randy Carpenter and by his sister and brother, Jerry Carpenter and Betty Taylor.
