DEATH OF NONOGENEARIAN

Oliver Crawford, an aged and highly respected citizen, died Monday night at his home just outside of town on the Cambridge Road. he had been going gradually down from the infirmities incident to old age for some time past, and a cancer caused the end to com e sooner than it otherwise would.
Oliver Crawford was born in Ireland in 1804, and was therefore 91 years of age at the time of his death. He came to this country in 1819 and was married in 1831 to Miss Jane Irwin. Eight children were born to this union. Mrs. Crawford died in 1855, and Mr. Crawford remained a widower ever since. He lived in Mill Creek township until 1873 when he moved to the place just outside of Coshocton where he died. he was always a scrupulously honest man, kind, obliging and generous. he was never a member of any church but was a strictly moral and conscientious man, and was a close reader and believer in the Bible. Funeral services were held Wednesday at the residence conducted by Rev. John Proctor Davis, after which the remains were taken to the knob Creek Church in Mill Creek township for interment.
