Pfc Raul R. Rosales, born Sept. 20, 1924, son of Mr. and Mrs. Leon M. Rosales, 1507 Freeman St., Houston. he received his education at Jones Grammar and Jefferson Davis High Schools, Houston; entered the service July 10, 1943, assigned to the Army 29th Inf. Div.; trained at Camp Wolters, Texas; served in the United States for 5 1/2 months, and overseas 22 months, in Cornwall, England. Participated in D-Day operations, Normandy, Brest Peninsula, Holland, Belgium, Germany. Received 4 Battle Stars. He was wounded in 1944 by a tank shell while he worked on radio in France. Awards and credits: Bronze Star and Cluster, Purple Heart, Good Conduct, Citation with Bronze Star Cluster for the crossing of the Roer River. He was honorably discharged on October 18, 1945.
