Wallace Abbott age 98 of Lake City passed away April 12, 2010 at the Lake City Nursing Home.

Wallace was born July 6, 1911 in Dover, MN to Mark & Anna (Ladwig) Abbott. He attended school in the Dover area. He married Irene Tittrington August 27, 1938. They farmed in the Elgin, MN area for 30 years until retiring in 1972, after retiring they moved to Lake City in 1973. He was a member of the Lake City United Methodist Church. He served on the Elgin Public School Board for 30 years, Elgin Grain Elevator Board for 7 years, 4-H Leader for 10 years and he was a member of the Masonic Lodge for 60 years where he served as Grand Mason. He was a member of the Lake City Senior Citizens. Wally was an avid fisherman and he truly enjoyed his years of farming. He also enjoyed spending time with his family.

Wallace is survived by his wife Irene; a daughter Gayle (Stanley) Bressner of Winston, GA; two granddaughters Carol Hunsaker of Atlanta, GA, Pauline Sannes of Morehead, MN; a great granddaughter Holly Hunsaker; a sister Leona Hawkins of Chatfield, MN; a brother Lyle Abbott of Stewartville, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson David Siefert and two brothers Gordon and Marion.
