MARTINSVILLE, IN - Opal Lucille Crouse Dunn, 82, Martinsville, passed away at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at Meadow Lakes in Mooresville.
She was born on November 4, 1927 in Center Point in Clay County, Indiana to Harry Harrison Crouse and Ada (Burns) Crouse.
Opal married John Cyrus Dunn on February 3, 1951. He preceded her in death on December 26, 1963.
She was a housewife and had worked at the tarpaulin factory in Gosport and sold Cort Cosmetics. She loved to watch the birds and flowers. Throughout Opal's life, she was a wonderful cook and gardener. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her family will miss her kind and gentle heart.
Opal is survived by two sons, James E. Dunn and his wife Angie of Martinsville and John Dunn and his wife Virginia of Freedom; one daughter, Z. Darlene Cohen of Martinsville; one brother, Melvin Crouse and his wife Ginny of Brazil; two granddaughters, Ann Kindred and Jessie Dunn; two grandsons, James Dunn and Aaron Dunn; one great granddaughter, Ashley Cohen; and one great grandson, Aron Kindred.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Cyrus Dunn; her son-in-law, David Cohen; her father, Harry Harrison Crouse; and her mother, Ada (Burns) Crouse.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, April 16, 2010 at Costin Funeral Chapel in Martinsville.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday and one hour prior to the service at the funeral chapel.
Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Spencer, Indiana.
