My beloved Great-Uncle.

After the death of his parents, he was reared by his Uncle John Talbert Pittman & Aunt Nora (West) Pittman. Born in a dugout near Meno, OK (between Meno & Lahoma).

Married Lillian Mabel Burnett in 1918; one daughter: Viola Ethel Pittman. After her death, he married Mrs. Gladys Alvina (Blanchard) Miller, March 22, 1925 in Portland, Multnomah Co., OR and adopted her son: William Thomas Pittman

A very tall man; well over 6 foot. I use to identify he and Aunt Gladys as "Mut and Jeff" because of his height. Uncle Gorden and Uncle Cas were the shortest of the Pittman men.

My all-time favorite uncle. He was a preacher and spoke the gospel with authority and humility. Preached his sister (my Grandma's funeral) and married my sister and brother-in-law in our home.

We loved having he and Aunt Gladys visit with us and often went to Oregon to vacation with them.

Many thanks to Chris Carlson for stone photos.
