Mrs Gustav Neubauer, whose maiden name was Mary Alma Cook was the third child of the family of ten children of John and Lettie nee Bliss. She was born in Jackson township near Scranton, Green county, Iowa, Feb 1 1803. She was baptized into the Christian faith in 1915.
On Feb 22 1913 she was united in marriage with Mr. Lyle Kinney. Two children were born to this marriage and survive to morn the departure of their beloved mother. They are Frank Kinney of New Providence and Jesse Kinney still at home.
On Feb 27 1924, she was united in marriage to Gustav A. Neubauer by the Rev. H.F. Bittner, Lutheran pastor in Hampton, Iowa. Mrs. Neubauer became a member of the Lutheran church by conformation on March 21, 1926, being instructed in the chief parts of Christian faith by Rev.H.Olgan formarly pastor of St. John's Lutheran church at Hubbard. Her second marriage was blessed with five children. The oldest died in infancy. Beside the grieving husband, the following shildren mourn her departure; Dorothy, Mildred and twin boys, Ronald and Donald Neubauer, also two step-children Herbert Neubauer of Hubbard and Mrs. Lydia Kalous and one step-grandchild Robert Kalous Jr.
Mrs. Neubauer's father who passed away October 22, 1936 and two sisters who died in 1918, proeceded her into eternity. Besides her mother, who lives in LaMesa Cal., four sisters and three brothers survive. Mrs. Myrtle Green, Mrs. Alberta Ludwig, both of Los Angeles, Cal, Will and Roy Cook of Yakima Wash.
Mrs.Neubauer was a faithful wife, a good mother, respected neighbor, and beloved member of her community and church, all of whom wre greatly shocked by her sudden departure early saterday morning. Aug 13, as a result of burns inflicted while starting a fire in her home in Sherman township, Hardin county the previous evening. She had attatned the age of 45 years 6 months and 12 days.
