Funeral services for Laverne J. Barella, 83, were Feb. 13 at Bustard's Funeral Home and Crematory in Casper.
Interment was in Highland Cemetery.
Mrs. Barella died Feb. 8 at Wyoming Medical Center.
She was born March 10, 1917, in North Carolina to Charles and Alice Holland. On May 31, 1984, she married Joseph A. Barella in Las Vegas.
She was a local sheep and cattle rancher, owned an oil business, piloted her own plane and worked as a legal secretary and accountant for the IRS. She visited Douglas frequently and conducted business in Converse County. She helped many local charities and Shriners' Children's Hospital.
She enjoyed fishing and was a champion golfer and bowler. In her younger years, she enjoyed barrel racing.
Survivors include her husband of Casper; daughter Ann Loar of Phoenix; stepchildren Allen Barelle, David Barelle, Gary Barelle and Stephen Barelle, all of Casper, Brenda Dangle of Phoenix and Lisa Adelman of Douglas; and two granddaughters.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Mark Davis, Sr.
The family requests memorials to Shriners' Children's Hospital, Intermountain Unit Memorial Fund, Virginia Street at Fairfax, Salt Lake City, Utah 84103; or Veterans of Foreign Wars Mills Post 10969, 4570 W. Yellowstone Highway, Casper 82604. Memorial;s may be left at Bustard's.
