She was born in Richland County on Nov 22, 1913, the daughter of Leo and Stella Mae (Spangler) Brassie Sr.. She married Horace Gill Potter and he died in 1952.
Mrs. Potter is survived by a son, Horace of Bloomington; a daughter Flo Hughes of Christopher; a brother, Leo Brassie of Calhoun; 3 sisters, Frieda Foster, Olney, Juanita Brassie of Rantoul, and Patricia Van Fossan of Lawrenceville; six grandchildren; her father Leo Brassie, Sr; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, mother and a brother, Lloyd Brassie.
