In Ashaway, R. I., April 17, 1910, Mrs. Mary E. B. Cundall, in the seventy-second year of her age.
Mary Elizabeth Babcock was the daughter of Hoxsie Perry Babcock and Elizabeth Perry White Babcock, and was born in Westerly, R. I. In Westerly her childhood was spent, but at the age of sixteen she came to Ashaway, R. I., where she has since resided. On the twenty-sixth of November, 1856, she and Edward C. Cundall were united in holy wedlock, and thus it has been theirs to walk life's pathway together for more than fifty-three years. Now he is left to finish the journey alone. The lives of both herself and husband have been intimately connected with the affairs of the community for more than half a century, and her presence will be missed, particularly by those who remain of the older generation. In 1858 she was baptized into the fellowship of the First Seventh-day Baptist Church of Hopkinton, R. I., and in this fellowship she remained till called home. For a few months she has been a great sufferer and the falling asleep in death was a relief. Beside the husband she leaves one son, Constant Cundall, of Westerly, to mourn her departure.
Funeral services were held at the home, April, 19, and interment took place in Oak Grove Cemetery. WM. L. B.
