MARTIN GALLMEYER DIES AT HOSPITAL

Martin C. Gallmeyer, 79, a retired farmer of the Poe road in Wells county, Ossian route 1, died at 8:10 a.m. today at the Adams county memorial hospital where he had been a patient for seven days.

Born in Wells county Nov. 6, 1892, he was a son of Conrad and Mary Graft-Gallmeyer, and was married to Paula Ostermeyer June 10, 1917. His wife preceded him in death Aug. 29, 1968.

Mr. Gallmeyer was a lifelong member of the Zion Lutheran church at Friedheim, a charter member of the Poe volunteer fire department and a member of the Indiana Volunteer Fireman's Association.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Geraldine) Buuck of Hoagland, with whom he had made his home the past three and one-half years; a son, Wilbert (Whip) Gallmeyer of Ossian, route 1; one sister, Mrs. Ella Rook of Battle Creek, Mich., one brother, Gerald Gallmeyer of Decatur; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. A son Erwin, died May 20, 1961. Five sisters and one brother are also deceased.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Zwick funeral home and at 2 p.m. at the Zion Lutheran church at Friedheim. Rev. Ronald Schultz will officiate, and burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Saturday until time of the services.
