Vernon Wayne Winters, 53, of St. Albans, formerly of Buffalo, died July 23, 2000, at home after a short illness.
He was a graduate of Buffalo High School, a meter mechanic for the South Putnam Public Service District and an Army veteran of the Vietnam War.
Surviving: wife, Judy K. Carpenter Winters; daughter, Deborah Ann Smith of Bancroft; son, Jason Wayne Winters of Hometown; stepsons, Buddy Thomas of South Charleston and Charles Thomas of St. Albans; sister, Carolyn Barnett of Myerstwon, Pennsylvania; three grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren.
Service was held July 26, 2000 at Buffalo Church of God with Pastor Junior Smith officiating. Burial was in Buffalo Memorial Park. Raynes Funeral Home, Buffalo, was in charge of arrangements.
