M. B. was the inventor of the Lloyd Loom. He was raised in Meaford, Ontario where he married 15 Mar 1882 Emma Crosskill--with whom he adopted Frank Crosskill Lloyd (disowned by M. B.). Marshall Burns was the founder of Lloyd Manufacturing in Minneapolis, MN and Menominee, MI. He served as an Alderman in Minneapolis and as Mayor of Menominee. Having divorced Emma 22 Oct 1898 in Minneapolis, he married there in 1 Mar 1899 Margaret Isadora Reddington whom he called Dora [She later married Elmer Franklin Brown, son of George] and Fannie Brown. Emma returned to Meaford. When Dora left Menominee for California, M. B. divorced her and married 11 Apr 1922 Henrietta (Hammer) Pollen, the former Harry Claudius Pollen, whom he called "Polly." After M. B.'s death there was a considerable fight between the third and second wife for the estate.
