Frank Maddex, 77, Daytona Beach, Fla., died Saturday at the Hallifax Hospital there.He was a native of Jefferson County and had owned and operated Maddex Grocery in Volga from 1944 to 1955. He also had worked as a carpenter at the Indiana-Kentucky Electric Corporation plant and operated Maddex Cab Company from 1966-1975.He was a member of the Hopewell Baptist Church.Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Gertrude Maddex; one daughter, Miss Frances Maddex, Daytona Beach, Fla.; and one brother, Robert, Chelsea. He was preceded in death by five brothers.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Hopewell Cemetery.Lytle Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
