Betty joined Edward Eugene Akins in Holy Matrimony on December 22, 1941 in Coolidge, Arizona. Together they enjoyed 62 years of marriage and raised seven children, before his passing, August 29, 2003.
She was a homemaker, a very loving wife, mother and grandmother, making her family her first priority in life. Betty loved bingo, and was an avid player.
Those left to cherish Betty's love and memories are: (3) Three sons - Robert Akins of San Antonio, TX; Eddie Akins of Katy, TX; Jimmy Akins of Bandera, TX; (4) Four daughters - Patsy Gonzales of Bay City, TX; Barbara Nichols or Odessa, TX; Deborah Johnson of Mobile, AL; and Candy Mitchell of Kermit, TX. Fifteen grandchildren and Twelve Great-Grandchildren also survive Betty.
Memorial Services were privately held. Arrangements are entrusted to Family Services Funeral Parlor of Kermit, Texas.
