Isabelle Phylis Holmes is the daughter of Alfred W. Holmes and Dorothy A. Hall. Isabelle married James Merton Look on July 25, 1947 in Jonesboro, Maine. James and Isabelle had two children.
JONESBORO-Isabelle Look passed away peacefully October 3rd at the Davis Estates in Machias. She was born May 2, 1926 in Machias to Alfred and Dorothy Holmes, the oldest of nine children. After marrying James Look in 1947, she moved to Jonesboro where she lived the rest of her life until moving to the Davis Estates in 2010.
Always a hard worker, Isabelle worked for years at the Look Brothers Store in Jonesboro. She also worked at Sinford’s in Jonesboro and Maine Wild Blueberry in Machias. Her yeast rolls were famous in Jonesboro and she happily baked them for countless community affairs and other gatherings.
Isabelle is predeceased by her parents and her siblings Helen, Lawrence, Lillian, Sarah, Floyd and Jenny. Her husband James passed in 1994 and her beloved grandson Christopher Look passed in 2011.
She is survived by her two sons; James Look of Leesburg, FL and his wife Hubene and David Look of Columbia, ME; her brother Raymond Holmes of Wilton, NH; her sister Betty Reynolds and husband Norman of Whitneyville, ME; her granddaughters Ashley Look of Deland, FL and Tina Fass of Bangor, ME; her great-granddaughter Madison Look of Anderson, SC as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
It is hard to imagine our world without her in it. A beautiful soul and a strong spirit, she was truly loved and will be truly missed.
