On 23 Dec 1841, AndrewJ Betts was united in marriage to Fayette Solome Floch, dau of Matthew & Hannah (Englebert) Floch, her father being a German farmer residing near Meadville PA. He was a Revolutionary hero. One year after marriage the young couple located on the present homestead & together erected a log hut in which the family resided for several years.

On her tombstone it states that she was born in 1826. Per Zion Church (Venango) baptismal records, it states that she was born "Fajette Salome" on 26 Jun 1825 & bp. on 7 Aug 1825. The sponsors at her baptism were Johannes Minium & w. Barbara.
