Born April 22, 1907, in Topeka, Kan., she was the daughter of the late Alba S. and Rose Myers Kennell.
She and her husband owned and operated Mathias' Tavern in Waynesboro from 1945 until their retirement in 1969.
She was a member of Evangelical Lutheran Church in Waynesboro.
She is survived by her husband, Joseph W. Mathias, whom she married May 11, 1930; one daughter, JoAnn Hare of Haddonfield, N.J.; one son, Lynn Mathias of Smithsburg; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro. The Rev. Lans E. Alexis will officiate. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery in Waynesboro.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home 30 minutes prior to the service.
