Jay H. Adams was born January 6, 1929 in Oilton, Oklahoma the son of Joe and Nellie (Floyd) Adams and died December 17, 2006 in Chickasha.
Mr. Adams had lived in Chickasha since October of 1971. He worked for Mobil Oil Company all of his adult life retiring in 1985.
Mr. Adams was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene of Chickasha. He was involved with the prison ministry for 7 years, and he co-authored the Grapevine Newsletter.
He was preceded in death by: Wife: WillaMae M. Adams September 5, 1993; two brothers; one sister-in-law; one son-in-law: Irvin Powell; one great-grandson; one granddaugher-in-law.
Survivors include: three daughters: Judy Powell of Sublette, Kansas; Deena Chavers and husband Ves of Chickasha; Marie Holcomb and husband Jon of Wichita, Kansas; one son: Keith Adams and wife Angela of Moore, Ok; three sisters-in-law: Annabelle Adams of Norman, Ok; Margie Eckles of Wichita, Kansas; Fern Pogue of Tuscon, Arizona; 13 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren.
Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.
