Joseph F. Stoll, 91, of West Hazleton, passed away late Sunday evening at the Hershey Medical Center. Born in West Hazleton, he was the son of the late Frank and Mary (Brown) Stoll and resided in the West Hazleton area for all of his life. In his early years, he was employed at the Duplan Silk Mill and the Bethlehem Steel Corporation as a machinist and retired as an air conditioning and refrigeration service technician, employed by the Kravtiz Equipment Company, Hazleton. He was a member of Transfiguration Roman Catholic Church, West Hazleton. He was also a member of The Carpenters: making crosses to be distributed throughout the world. He had personally made over 4,500 crosses. Preceding him in death, besides his parents were his wife, the former, Elaine (Sokolofski), who died Sept. 1988; brother, John and a sister, Thelma. Surviving are sons, Joseph and his wife Karen, Macedonia, Ohio and Barry and his wife Marybeth, Harwood, Md.; sisters, Mrs. Richard (Arlene) Kemp and Ms. Betty Stoll, both of West Hazleton. Four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews also survive. The funeral will be held Thursday at 9 a.m. from the Hilary J. Bonin Funeral Home, 99 W. Green St., West Hazleton. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. in Transfiguration R.C. Church. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 6 to 9 p.m., where a Christian Wake Service will be held. Contributions in his memory can be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, 1660 Maddy Lane, Keego Harbor, Mich. 48320.
