William Pike was born January 12, 1820, at Martinsburgh, Lewis County, New York,
the son of William Pike and Tryphena Cole. He was a Corporal during the Civil
War. His father, William Pike Sr, was a Sergeant in Captain Jacob Phillip's Militia Company, Colonel Robert Van Rensselaer's 8th Regiment. William Jr. moved to Michigan shortly after the Civil War, and to Seattle in 1889.
