ROCKFORD - James Kingsley, 79, of Rockford died at 4:52 p.m. Saturday, July 21, 2001, in OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center. Born Feb. 16, 1922, in Aurora, the son of George and Adamenia Paulos Kingsley.

Married Betty Ilseman on Oct. 17, 1945, in Kansas City, Mo. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II, and was a prisoner of war. Jim enjoyed reminiscing over the types of planes he flew during the war. He was a true entrepreneur and shared stories of the two drive-in restaurants he owned years ago in Oklahoma. In Loves Park, Jim worked very hard for years at his car lot as an automobile dealer. Always working to make money to buy treats, Jim loved his grandchildren and shared in their lives and interests. Other interests included fishing, golf and enjoying a good football game.

Survivors include wife, Betty children, Ted (Terri) Kingsley of Gilbert, Ariz., Linda (Gary) Bubnack of Stillman Valley and Sally (Bruce) Swanson of Roscoe grandchildren, Kiki (Scott) Britnell of Byron, Shannon (Paul) Satti of Chicago, Casey Kingsley of Machesney Park, Erica, Kayla and Cori Swanson, all of Roscoe, Emily, J.D. and Shay Bubnack, all of Stillman Valley great-granddaughter, Kenzie Britnell of Byron sister, Catherine Kingsley, and brother, William Kingsley, both of Aurora.
Predeceased by parents and beloved son, Randy.

Services at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 26, in Fitzgerald & Associates Funeral Home, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Road, with Pastor Gregory Carlson officiating.
Burial in Scandinavian Cemetery.

Visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 25, and from 10 a.m. to service time Thursday in Mulford Chapel. Memorials may be made to the family. 7-24-2
