Stone reads Jacob Rupert Born Nov 7 1834 Died Aug 26 1905 Maria (Yarian) His wife born April 3 1838 Died May 10 1922
If our records are correct, Jacob was born Nov 1834, almost 4 months after the death of his father in July 1834. Mother, Rebecca Snook Rupert never remarried and had her maiden sister Magdalena Snook in house in the 1850 census records.
Jacob is listed as a farmer with 9 children in the 1880 census of Unity Township, Columbiana County, Ohio. He is likely living in the log cabin his grandfather Adam built, or in the house directly next to the log cabin. The Victorian style house with double chimney is likely circa 1870-1880. Further study to be done on dating property. Property to the south lives Isaac Emerson Heck 104 acres. (Macklin Road)
In 1900 he is living same location Unity Twp with neighbors:
being Elmer Rupert b 1866 to one side and John Rupert b 1832 the other side. Property near Emanuel Kibler and Peter Glosser, Thomas Metz and Johnathan Yarian. (Emanuel Kibler is son in law to Jacob Rupert)
Update - October 2011 - This property "FOR SALE" - view more at this link Adam Rupert's Log House homes for sale ** House was NOT built in 1900 as advertised.
Location Metz Road between Macklin to east and McClosky to West. Compare to 1870 map where J Rupert is living.
