Albert "Dick" Kiser Obit


Ellettsville - Albert I. "Dick" Kiser, 84, of Ellettsville, died Thursday at Bloomington Hospital.


Born April 13, 1913, in Stinesville, he was the son of Alfred and Grace (Payton) Kiser. He was a retired steamfitter and a 51 year member of Plumbers & Steamfitters Union Local 136. He was also a charter member of Old Dutch Church and president of Ellettsville Log Cabin Association.


Survivors include his wife, Jane (Figg) Kiser; one son of Bloomington, two daughters both from Ellettsville, two sisters of Bloomington; seven grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and six step-great-grandchildren.


He was preceded in death by one sister, one brother, and one great-granddaughter.


Services will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Old Dutch Church with the Revs. Doug Martin and D.L. Maxwell officiating. Burial will be at Old Dutch Cemetery.


Note: His birth certificate gives his middle name as Johnne (or Johnnie - difficult to read) while his WW II draft registration card (which he completed) shows Ishmuel.


Friends may call 4-8 p.m. today at Chandler Funeral Home in Ellettsville and from 1 p.m. until services Sunday at the church.
