My 4th Great Grand Uncle.

Son of George W & Martha (Demeritt) Dearborn.

Brother of Eliza, Leonard, Emily & Harriett.

George first married Mary Amanda Dow (1839-1868) in 1853.
They had a son Elmer W, who was born on March 18, 1860.

He married his 2nd wife, Jennie S Clifford on February 13, 1870 in Gilford, NH.

Father of Lura L, Harriett E & Ethelyn B.

George fought bravely in The Civil War alongside his brother-in-law, John Knights. They were both in Company G of New Hampshire's 12th Voluntary Regiment, "The Mountaineers". He rose to the rank of Corporal.

His sister, Emily (Dearborn) Knights named her youngest son, George Winthrop Knights after him.

George passed away from Apoplexy on Pitchwood Island after rowing a boat with friends that included his brother-in-law John Knights, out on Lake Winnipesaukee.
