Lydia Weitman Dasher

On Tuesday evening, the 14th of June, 1881, Mother Lydia Dasher breathed her last.

Mother Dasher in infancy was dedicated to God by the rite of baptism and when she arrived at a proper age, she was regularly received into full communion in the Evangelical Lutheran Church by the right of confirmation, in which communion she remained regular and consistent; and while she possessed that christian charity which should ever characterise a christian, so that they regard not theirs as the only church, still she loved her church and its doctrines. As long as she was in health her seat was seldom vacant in the house of God. She could truly say, "Our feet shall stand within thy gates O Jerusalem!"

Mother Dasher was born in Effingham County, Georgia and married Martin Dsher. She was the mother of twelve children, four of whom, and the husband, precede her to the spirit land. She leaves eight children, twenty-six grand children and fifty-two great grand-children. Together with a large circle of friends and relatives to mourn their loss; but they sorrow not without hope.

Her remains were deposited in the cemetery at Ebenezer and the occasion improved with a sermon by her pastor, based upon Revelation XIV. 14. REV. J.N. DERRICK
