~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Mack Adams, 89, Confederate veteran and former Tishomingo County representative, died at the home of his daughter, Miss Ollie Adams, circuit court clerk.
Mr. Adams, whose ancestral home was four miles south of Iuka, came in to spend Thanksgiving with his daughters and was taken ill that night. Last year he suffered a paralytic stroke from which he never recovered.
He served in Colonel Moreland's regiment, Roddy's Calvary with General Forrest and was with Forrest in many of his famous battles. After the war he returned to Iuka and later taught in the first free schools of the county.
He represented Tishomingo County in the Legislature from 1908 - 1912. Since then he has farmed at his old home.
His wife, who survives him, was the daughter of one of the original owners of land on which Iuka is built.
He leaves two children, Miss Ollie Adams and Mrs. Mack Sanders.
