Robert, who resided at 116 North Walnut Street, Newport, Delaware, served as a Private First Class on B-26 #40-1500, 897th Medium Bombardment Squadron, U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.

He enlisted in the Army on December 13, 1941 in Wilmington, Delaware. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed as an Actor and as Single, without dependents.

Robert died during a training exercise when his B-26 crashed in Albany, Texas. Four other soldiers were also killed in the crash. (see article)

He had served the Air Corps for one year and three months at the time of his death.
