Woman's injuries on highway fatal

A 45-year-old Lake Elsinore woman was struck by a truck and killed while she stood on Bundy Canyon Road Tuesday, according to the California Highway patrol.
Diane Lorraine Ashworth died at Inland Valley Regional Medical Center in Wildomar about 7:30p.m., said Deputy Coroner Bob Powell of the Riverside County Coroner's Office.
The woman was standing on Bundy Canyon Road near Waldon Road southeast of Lake Elsinore when she was struck by a 1972 Cherolet Blazer, said CHP Officer Tracy Vanemmerik.
The driver said he could not avoid striking the woman because of oncoming traffic, Vanemmerik said.
