Mrs. Laura Field, wife of Sheriff George B. Field of Gloucester County, died at her home last Sunday morning. She was the daughter of the late Rev. W. E. Wiatt, and was about 60 years old. Funeral services were conducted on Monday at Newington Baptist Church, of which she had been a lifetime member, after which the remains were laid to rest in the cemetery there.
Mrs. Field is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Gerald Hopkins, of Gloucester, and Mrs. Todd Wiatt, of Newport News, six sons, W. S. and Catsby Field, of Gloucester, William Field, of Roanoke; Fred, George and John Field, of Newport News.
