Ellen Ann Harrison descended from President William Henry Harrison.
His son William Henry and his wife Mary were her parents, making her a granddaughter of President William Henry Harrison.
Her family became friendly with the Spivey family after they arrived on a ship from Virginia to Inman's Switch.
Ellen and John W. Spivey were married in 1866. In 1867 they had a daughter Ella Jane.
While living at Inman's Switch John W. Spivey joined the Newport Masonic Lodge No. 228. Evidently this lodge was located along the Trinity river near the present town of Riverside.
In Feb of 1870 John W. Spivey died.
His burial place is unknown.
In Aug. 1870 the Spivey's second daughter Rellie was born.
In 1872 Ellen Ann Spivy married Levi Long, a widower, whose land adjoined hers.
They had three daughters. Lillie Bell, Fannie and Effie Mae.
Ellen and Levi Long lived in houston county the remainder of their lives and farmed.
They were members of the Methodist Church.
They are buried in Salem Cemetery between Lovelady and Weldon, Texas.
