Mr. DiGiacomo was the husband of the former Janice DeStefano. He was a New York City Transit police officer from 1965 to 1986, serving in Coney Island. After his retirement from the force, he worked as an investigator for Allstate Insurance Co. for more than 20 years. Mr. DiGiacomo was treasurer of the Transit Police Dinosaurs, an organization for retirees, and a former vice president of the Transit Police Columbia Association. He belonged to the Patrolmen's Benevolent Association, and was a life member of the NYPD Columbia Association. Along with Janice, his wife of 25 years, surviving are his son, Paul J. III; his daughters, Diane, Laura and Donna DiGiacomo; four grandchildren, and a great-granddaughter.
