Mrs. Elizabeth Sims Dead.
At 8 o'clock this morning the spirit of Mrs. Elizabeth Sims was called to the great beyond, after a brief illness of flux, aged 85 years. The deceased was stopping with her daughter, Mrs. M. J. Dossey, of 715 West Coates street, when the summons came and she peacefully and quietly passed over the dark river to that home not made with hands. She leaves three sons and three daughters, besides a large number of friends to mourn her loss. The daughters are Mrs. M. J. Dossey, of Moberly, Mrs. Susie Dodson and Mrs. Mollie Ancell, of this county; the sons are B. Sims, of West Reed street; J. H. Sims, of Chariton county, and Joe Sims, of Randolph. The deceased was a consecrated christian woman and a lady of true worth and many noble traits of character, whose long and useful life will serve as a cheering memory of her many friends and acquaintances. Short funeral services will be held from the residence at 9:15 tomorrow by Rev. Moore and the regular funeral ceremonies will occur at the Christian church at Cairo at 1 p.m. Interment will be had at the burying ground north of Jacksonville. (Moberly Evening Democrat 10 July 1900)
We desire to express our sincere thanks to those who so kindly assisted us during the late sickness and death of our dear mother.
B. Sims,
J. H. Sims,
J. W. Sims,
