Service for Harold Douglas Hymas, 76, of Plano, who died January 21, 1996, at his home of cancer, will be conducted Thursday, January 25, at 11 a.m. at the Plano LDS Ward Church by Bishop Eric Blaser.
Burial will be at the Plano Cemetery.
Friends may call Wednesday, January 24, from 6:30-9 p.m. at Flamm Funeral Home in Rexburg and Thurday at the church from 10-10:45 a.m.
He was born on October 30, 1919, in Plano, a son of Milford Hymas and Charlotte Steel Hymas. He attended school in Edmunds and Ricks College where he enjoyed playing basketball.

He enlisted in the Army January 23, 1942, and served during World War II in the European Front. He was discharged September 19, 1945, after the war ended.
He returned to Ricks College where he met Harriette Louise Berrett. They were married in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple June 26, 1946.
He farmed in the Plano area and was watermaster for the area canal companies. He was a bus driver for the Sugar-Salem School District for 30 years.

He was an active member of the LDS Church in the Plano Ward. He served in many positions including as a member of a bishopric and at the time of his death was a missionary at the Family History Center in Rexburg.

Survivors include his wife of Plano; children, Douglas Hymas of Rexburg, Rick Hymas, John Hymas and Kelly Hymas, all of Sugar City, Robin Hymas of Cove, Utah, Kevin Hymas of Plano, Mrs. Kim (Janet) Reynolds of Ashton and Layne Hymas of Riverton, Utah; brothers and sisters, Melvin Hymas of Idaho Falls, Clarence Hymas and Bert Hymas, both of Plano, Viola Brown of Rockland and Lottie Roberts of Benton City, Washington; 49 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, two infant brothers and two granddaughters.
