Shan Langston was born on July 11, 1911 in Lawrence Co., MS, the son of Thomas M. and Mary Elizabeth (Daniels) Langston. He lived in East Columbia for 70 years and was a member of the East Columbia Baptist Church. He worked for Marion County Beat 5 as a road grader operator for 35 years. He and his wife Ouida Mae were married for over 60 years. They had the following sons: George Glyn, Thomas Eugene and Robert Morgan.
