Only son of Charles Lindley Gosnell.

Husband of Geraldine Theda Jackson Gosnell who resided on Washington Street, Wilmington, Delaware.

Father of Charles Edward Gosnell who passed away on December 7, 2003.

Paul, who resided at 2515 Washington Street, Wilmington, Delaware, served in the U.S. Marine Corps as a Gunner's Mate on the U.S.S. Shaw, at Pearl Harbor during World War II.

He was one of the "First Delawarean's" to be "Killed In Action" during World War II. The other was his shipmate, George Ames Penuel, Jr.

He was killed while manning an anti-aircraft gun on the destroyer, U.S.S. Shaw.

He had served in the Navy for twelve years at the time of his death and was decorated with a Purple Heart.

Paul's father requested that the State of Maryland, his home state, be placed on his son's headstone instead of Delaware where Paul resided with his wife.
