Ala Mae Arthur, 87, Union City, Ind., died Monday, March 5, 2007 at Ball Memorial Hospital.
She was born December 18, 1919 in Jay County to the late William and Lova Clark Kaufman. She was a 1937 graduate of Jackson, Ohio School and a member of Wesley United Methodist Church. She worked as a cook for Randolph Eastern Schools. She loved to play bridge and loved the Indiana Pacers.
Survivors include: one daughter, Phyllis (Jimmy) Gibson; one grandson, Jason A. (Carla) Gibson, and one great-grandson, Jimmy Ray Gibson, all of Union City, Ind.; nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: her husband of 62 years, Neil L. Arthur in 1999; one brother, Gilman Kaufman; one sister, Ada Belle Brand.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m., Thursday at Reichard Funeral Home with Rev. Don Brenneman officiating. Burial will be in the Union City Cemetery. Visitation is 5 to 7 p.m., Wednesday.
